As your airship slowly docked in front of Beacon Academy, your (e/c) eyes were filled with anticipation and wonder. You had been accepted into the best Huntsman Academy in Vale and you couldn’t wait to see what the next four years held in store. When the doors opened you filed out with the other new arrivals; and spotted your friend Jaune Arc getting to know the inside of a nearby garbage can, his motion sickness getting the better of him once again.

“Hey man, I offered you some pills for that, can’t say I didn’t try to help you out.” You said as you leaned against a wall and hearing a groan come from Jaune while you moved some loose strands of (h/c) hair out of your face

Next to your ship, another docked and soon dozens of workers wheeling white crates filed out. A director of sorts was guiding them towards the academy and you heard something rather peculiar as he barked orders.

“Come on now lads! Miss Schnee is expecting these to be unloaded in a timely matter, so let’s not keep the lady waiting.”

“Schnee?” You said to yourself before turning back to Jaune, “Hey, I’m going to check something out, I’ll catch up with you later.”

Turning around, you saw Jaune give you a thumbs-up while still face down in the waste basket and followed the workers from the other airship. You may have lived on the island of Patch for most of your life, but you and your parents actually moved there from the kingdom of Atlas. You had some friends still living in Atlas that you talked to every now and then, but Schnee was a name you hadn’t heard in a long time.

“Excuse me?” You said as you reached the director, “Forgive me, but I couldn’t help but overhear you a few moments ago. You said these belonged to a Miss Schnee?”

“That’s right, Miss Weiss Schnee will be starting here at Beacon Academy.” He said as your eyes widened, “I take it you know her?”

“I used to live nearby before I moved from Atlas but that was years ago. For all I know, she probably wouldn’t recognize me.”

“Well here’s your chance son, that’s her right over there.” The foreman said and pointed to his left

You looked in the direction he had pointed and you saw two girls. One had black hair and a black dress with a red cape. The other wore a pale blue jacket over a similarly colored thigh-length dress. On the back of her jacket was a crest in the shape of a snowflake, the symbol of the Schnee family and she had on white, heeled wedge boots. Her long white hair was tied in an off-center ponytail and even from this distance, you could make out her ice-blue eyes. Almost in disbelief that it was really her, you slowly moved up until you were within earshot.

“…Weiss?” You called out

The girls turned in your direction; the black-haired girl looked at you with a puzzled expression but the white-haired girl slowly looked you over and her eyes widened.

“…(y/n)?” She said as a smile found its way to your face

Soon the same smile found its way to her face as well and you ran up to meet her. Running to you as well she jumped in your arms and you wrapped your arms around her, the both of you laughing the whole time.

“It is you! What are you doing here?” Weiss asked you as you let her go

“Starting out at Beacon, same as you. Speaking of,” you said as you turned to the other girl, “is she a student too?”

“According to her, she skipped two years at her training academy. I think something else is up.”

“It’s true! Ozpin himself allowed me to come here!” The girl said

“Well, Ozpin has been known to make some…odd decisions every now and then.” You said as you noticed the empty Dust vial in Weiss’ hand, “Ah, you were playing Schnee Dust Representative weren’t you?”

“I didn’t mean to, I swear! I’m really sorry, I promise I’ll learn better!” The girl said

“Come on Weiss, it’s pretty clear she means it.” You said

“All right, but I’m going to hold you to it…Oh, I’m sorry, I never got your name.”

“It’s Ruby, Ruby Rose.”

“Nice to meet you, Ruby. You already know Weiss, and I’m (f/n) (l/n).”

“Hey (y/n)!” You heard Jaune say heading towards you

“…and that would be my friend Jaune. Nice guy.”

The four of you talked for a few minutes longer before Jaune and Ruby went off for a walk and you and Weiss decided to do the same, passing by the airstrip where you had landed.

“Jaune does seem like a nice guy if a bit clumsy at times.” Weiss said as you turned a corner heading for the amphitheater

“That’s him alright, it might take a while but he should be able to fit in just fine; Ruby too.”

“You really think so?”

“Come on you know me, I always give people a chance and don’t hate without a reason.”

Weiss stayed silent for a few more minutes before suddenly wrapping her arms around you again, fairly tightly too.

“Weiss?” You asked

“Sorry (y/n), it’s just…I’m so happy to see you. With my father naming me the successor to the company, I haven’t had much time for friends so it’s really nice to see you again.”

“Oh…well then I’m the one who should be sorry.” You said as you embraced her as well, “Moving away from you was no picnic I promise, but the past is in the past. Here’s to now and the future.”

“Yeah, you’re right. What matters is that we’re back together and hey, maybe we’ll be in the same classes.”

Eventually, the two of you reached the amphitheater where the other first-years had been grouped and filed inside. Out of the corner of your eye, you spotted Ruby and Jaune coming inside just as Ozpin approached the class to address everybody.

After Ozpin’s speech, everyone was sent to the dining hall for the night and the next day you were taken to a vast forest for your first test, where you were apparently going to find your partner and teammates for the next four years. The goal was to reach a set of ruins somewhere in the forest and retrieve a relic of some kind to turn the pairs into teams of four. After the test, Ozpin and Glynda Goodwitch sorted everyone into their teams and determined a leader. Jaune had met up with a girl you recognized as Pyrrha Nikos and became not only a part of Team JNPR with another girl named Nora and a guy named Ren, but he was also named the leader of his team. Shortly after you saw that Weiss and Ruby were on the same team with two other girls named Blake and Yang as Team RWBY. Then to your and Weiss’s surprise, Ruby was named team leader. Even from where you stood you could see the doubt on Weiss’ face concerning this decision, but when she looked back at you, her face lightened into a little smile as you and your team was officially formed with you as the leader.

The next morning, you headed to your first class with your teammates: a fox Faunus named Carmen, a human named Nick and Daisy, a rabbit Faunus. Sitting down in Professor Port’s lecture hall, you started reading up on today’s material when you heard Ruby’s team come inside with Jaune and his team not far behind as Professor Port entered the room and began the lecture. While Professor Port talked, he started to go off-track and tell some stories about his adventures when he was your age. You personally found it entertaining, but Weiss questioned the relevance of these stories. Professor Port responded by setting Weiss in a duel against a Boarbatusk that he had captured. Weiss held her own against the Grimm albeit with some difficulty since Ruby’s advice, while helpful, came at an inconvenient time during the match. A few minutes later, Weiss had slain the beast just in time for class to end and for her to leave in a bit of a huff. You and your team took the bell as a signal to leave and head back to your dorm along with the others when Professor Port suddenly called your name.

“I say Mr. (l/n), would you and Mr. Frost hold for a moment?” He said as you and Nick turned around

“Something wrong sir?” You asked

“No, no, nothing of the sort. I would, however, ask if you could help move my cage for me. I regret to say that I’ve been having some minor back pain as of late; I’m not as spry as I used to be, eh?” He said with a chuckle

“Sure, we could do that. Nick?” You said turning to your teammate

“No problem with me.” He said as the two of you headed down to the cage and moved it against the wall as Professor Port had directed.

Taking a minute to gather your things, you and Nick finally left the class and your friend headed back to your dorm room. You were about to follow him back when you spotted Weiss sitting on a bench nearby. It looked like she was thinking about something, so you headed over to see if everything was okay.

“Weiss?” You said, apparently breaking her from her trance

“Oh! (y/n), I…I didn’t see you there.”

“Sorry, wasn’t trying to startle you.” You said as you sat next to her, “You looked like you were thinking about something, any way I can help?”

Weiss thought for a few minutes before turning back to you, “Do you think I’m being too hard on Ruby?”

“What makes you say that?”

“I…may have said some things to Ruby that I’m starting to regret after talking to Professor Port a few minutes ago.”

“Like what?”

“I might have said that…Ozpin was wrong to make Ruby our leader.” She said with a hint of embarrassment in her voice

“Ouch,” you answered, “and you said Professor Port gave you some advice or something?”

Weiss nodded, “He told me that instead of wasting my energy being upset about a decision that I had no control over, he told me to enjoy what I have and be the best person I can be.”

“Good advice,” You commented, “Why worry about what you don’t have? It’s not going to change anything. Plus, it’s only been one day; give Ruby time to get used to the leader role, it’s a lot to take in believe me. Something I could add in is that maybe you could help Ruby where she seems to falter. I mean, Nick’s been helping us all keep track of time.”

“Good, because I remember you and your parents weren’t exactly great at keeping track of time.” She said with a giggle

“Remember that one time when I was over and my dad was almost two hours late picking me up?” You chuckled, “Your mom started setting a place for me at the dinner table!”

You and Weiss laughed for a minute or two as you looked over to see her cute smile return

“I needed that laugh (y/n), thanks.”

“No problem,” you said as the two of you got up, “I’ll see you around, yeah?”

“Of course, have a good night.” She answered as the two of you went your separate ways for the night.

A few weeks later, you were on your way to the training field to try and find a sparring partner. When you arrived, you saw Weiss practicing some of her techniques off on the side.

“Weiss!” You called out

“Oh, hey (y/n)!” She called back as you met up with her

“How are things with the team?”

“Better, and you were right; I just had to give Ruby some time to get used to things.”

“Told you so. You looking for a training partner?” You asked

“I might be, are you offering?”

Rather than answering her, you took a few paces away from her and unlocked Tooth & Nail. Loosing their blades and turning to face her, you smiled and said, “Let’s see just how skilled you really are with that sword.”

Dashing ahead, your claws clashed with Myrtenaster as Weiss quickly defended before clearing out as quickly as you came. Casting her glyph at her feet, she danced around you trying to get a few hits in but you were able to block her shots as you tapped into your Wind dust and swept your arms around. The sweeping of your arms created waves of wind that flew around you, but Weiss used her own Wind Dust to counter yours meeting you wave for wave. Activating your Ice Dust, you dug your fists into the dirt and two sets of ice spikes began jutting out of the ground heading in Weiss’ direction. Using her glyph again she jumped above the spikes and flew towards you, but you were able to get out of the way just in time for her blade to miss.

“Nice try…” You said as you felt something warm trickle down your cheek. Taking a minute to check your cheek, it was, in fact, your blood coming from a small cut on your cheek which your Aura healed soon after. Weiss stopped for a second and had a confident smile on her face “All right, let’s get serious.”

Slamming your fists together you activated your Semblance, your hair stood on end and your eyes turned bright yellow with vertical slit pupils and Weiss looked shocked when you seemingly disappeared. Appearing behind her thanks to your enhanced speed, you knocked her rapier out of her hand and swept her legs causing her to fall back. As she fell you grabbed the edge of her jacket and held her still with a blade poised to strike, signaling the endgame.

“Gotcha…” You said as you saw Weiss still having that look of surprise, almost to the point of fear, still on her face, “Weiss?”

You put her back on her feet but she just stood there until you snapped your fingers in front of her face, bringing her back to reality as your Semblance wore off.

“Everything okay?” You asked

“What…What was that just then?”

“What, my Semblance? It’s called Inner Beast.”

“You…you almost looked like a Faunus.”

“Well it gives me speed, strength and battle instincts LIKE a Faunus and I sort of LOOK like a Faunus when I use it, but it doesn’t turn me into one. Why does that matter?”

Weiss looked at you in a funny way as what you just said played back in your head.

“Oh my gosh, I am so sorry Weiss.” You said with a facepalm

“It’s okay (y/n); at least you know where I’m coming from, having to watch family and friends disappear because of the White Fang.”

“Humans can be put in that same position; it just depends on your upbringing. But that doesn’t mean all Faunus are like that, take Carmen and Daisy.”

“Oh yeah, they’re nice.”

“In fact,” you said as you checked the time on your Scroll, “I’m heading to meet them for lunch at my uncle’s café. You want to join us?”

“Sure, I could go for some food. You buying?”

“If the lady insists.” You said, earning a giggle from your friend as the two of you left the training arena

Meeting up with Daisy and Carmen, the three girls started talking as you headed to your uncle’s café. After 20 minutes, the four of you turned a corner to see your uncle’s café as a gentle afternoon breeze blew through your (h/c) hair.

“Oh, I didn’t know your uncle was the owner of this café!” Weiss said pointing to a shop across the street, “I shop at that boutique all the time but I never really noticed the café.”

“Yeah, it one of my favorites, Velvet’s too.” Daisy said mentioning her best friend Velvet Scarlatina

“Is it really as Faunus-friendly as you said (y/n)?” Weiss asked

Before you could answer, the café door flew wide open and Cardin Winchester and the other members of Team CRDL were thrown out onto their backsides as a resounding “AND STAY OUT!” could be heard from inside the café

“Does that answer your question?” Carmen asked, getting a nod out of Weiss as the four of you went inside

Stepping through the door the sounds of happy people, Human and Faunus, welcomed you as you tapped Weiss on the shoulder and pointed to the welcome stand. Behind it stood a dark-skinned man with short blue hair in his 40s wearing a white apron over his brown shirt and black pants. On the front of the stand was a bright blue sign that read: We reserve the right to refuse service to any and all who discriminate against Faunus. Violators will be immediately vacated from the premises.

“Table for four, Uncle Jay?” You said as the man looked up at you with a big smile on his face

“(Y/N)! Good to see you son!” He said with a bear hug, “Perfect timing too, a table just opened up not long ago.”

“I know, we heard you from outside. Cardin think it’d be funny to mess with Lily?”

“Lily?” Weiss asked

“My daughter, and (y/n)’s cousin; adopted her when she was real young and kids were always bullying her because she’s a Faunus. But yeah, little punks thought they could get away with giving her tail a quick yank; not in my house. But enough of that, let’s get you kids a table.”

Grabbing a set of menus, Uncle Jay led you to a table in front of one of the windows as Weiss sat next to you and Carmen and Daisy sat across from you.

“Lily should be around to get you kids some drinks. Y’all enjoy everything!” Your uncle called as he headed back to the kitchen

“So Weiss, why did you choose to become a Huntress?” Carmen asked, “I mean, you’ve already got a solid future with your father’s company.”

“That’s exactly why: I’m a Schnee. I have a legacy of honor to uphold. Once I realized I was capable of fighting, there was no longer a question of what I would do with my life.”

“Okay, that makes sense. But still, and I don’t mean to offend, I can’t help but worry about what kind of company your father will be handing over to you given the…”

“I’m fully aware of what my father has done to the Schnee Dust Company. Since he took control, the business has been operated in a… moral gray area. But my father was not the start of our name and I refuse to let him be the end of it. The road isn’t going to be easy, but I welcome the challenge and will enjoy when the Schnee name is placed in the proper context.”

The table was quiet for a little bit until you broke the silence and quickly changed the subject.

“So Weiss, how did you do on Dr. Oobleck’s test?”

“Another A, you?”

“Same.”

“Man, you two are lucky.” Daisy groaned as her ears dropped a little, “I barely got a C, I really need to bring my grade up in that class.”

“Maybe Weiss could tutor you.” You said, causing Daisy’s ears to perk up again

“Really? Is that okay with you Weiss?”

“Sure, I’ve got a little free time, and I don’t see why I can’t help out a friend.” Weiss said with a smile as Daisy started beaming from ear to ear.

The four of you talked about school stuff for a few minutes more before a tiger Faunus came up to your table to take your orders. It was pretty clear to Weiss that this was your cousin Lily considering when she saw you she immediately hugged you, getting a laugh out of Weiss and your teammates. After spending an hour or so at Uncle Jay’s you had settled up and headed back to Beacon. Weiss headed off to her dorm room as you and the girls left to do the same. When you got back into your room, you crashed on your bed for a minute or two before feeling eyes on you and looking over to see Carmen and Daisy smiling at you.

“What?” You asked

“You and Weiss look really cute together, you know that?” Carmen said as you face started flushing red, earning a giggle from your teammates

“Come on (y/n), you’ve known her for how long? Years, wasn’t it? You’re telling me that finally being reunited with her doesn’t bring back any old feelings?”

“Joke all you want; if things play out that way, then great. Until then, I’m fine right where we are now. Now if you’ll excuse me,” you said with a yawn, “I think that food coma is finally kicking in.”

Within a few minutes, you had nodded off and heard the door to your room open as your teammates left to let you sleep.

A few days later, Professor Ozpin gave a school-wide announcement concerning two subjects. A few weeks from now, Beacon Academy will be holding a dance as part of the upcoming Vytal Festival and Tournament. Cheers from most if not all of the girls and even some guys could be heard as Ozpin silenced the crowd. On a more serious note, Ozpin mentioned the increased White Fang activity in the surrounding area and the sightings of so-called “White Fang Alphas”. In response, General Ironwood of the Atlesian Military will be deploying a small squadron of patrols around Vale and the academy to make sure the festival runs smoothly. Ozpin also requested that students do not travel alone at night and keep their weapons on their person at all times.

One night, you were lying in bed listening to some music on your Scroll looking up at the moon and stars when you noticed movement down in the courtyard. Getting up for a better look, you saw Weiss run across the courtyard and into the gardens. You couldn’t help but wonder where she was going, so you decided to check in on Ruby and the others to see if they knew. Slipping Tooth & Nail over your hands, you grabbed your Scroll and headed down the hall to Ruby’s dorm. As you approached their door, you could hear voices from inside and when you knocked, those voices quieted down as the door opened and Ruby stood in the doorway.

“Hey (y/n), what’s up?”

“I thought I saw Weiss outside a few minutes ago. Everything okay?”

“We’re…not sure,” Yang said behind her, “She got a call from her sister and when she hung up, she just ran out the door. She didn’t even take her weapon with her.”

“Huh…” You answered, “I…think I’m going to go check on her. I saw her run into the gardens so she can’t be too far away. I’ll take Myrtenaster to her while I’m at it if you want.”

“Really? Thanks (y/n).” Ruby said as she handed you the sword and you headed for the elevator

As you walked through the gardens under the light of the street lamps, the quiet was almost unsettling. You looked around but there was no sign of Weiss, and you started to get worried because of her family’s history with the White Fang and how Ozpin said that they were becoming more active around here. When you neared the fountain in the middle of the gardens, you heard a voice and as you got closer you recognized it as Weiss’ voice. You turned a corner and the fountain came into view with Weiss standing in front of it. She was silent for a minute, and then she started singing; you hadn’t heard her sing since before you moved away, but her voice was just as beautiful as you remembered.

Mirror, tell me something.
Tell me who’s the loneliest of all.

While Weiss sang, you saw her shoulders shake ever so slightly and you could make out a few sniffles between verses. Before long, Weiss had finished the song and you started to approach her.

“Weiss?” You said, causing her to turn around in surprise

“(y/n), you scared me!”

“Sorry,” you apologized, “what are you doing out here?”

Weiss turned back to the fountain as you walked up next to her.

“Do you remember my aunt and uncle?”

“Sure, nice people. What about them?”

“I got a call from my sister a little while ago. They were coming to see me compete in the tournament, but their airship got attacked by the White Fang. No one knows what happened to them.”

“Weiss…” You said as you wrapped your arms around her

The two of you just stood in the darkness together for a little while before Weiss put her arms around your waist and nestled into your shoulder.

“Thank you (y/n), you’ve always been there for me even when we were kids.”

“That’s what friends do right?” You asked

“Yeah, but you’re so much more than a friend. All my life, boys have only cared about the perks of my last name. But you care about me, as a person.”

You looked down to meet Weiss’ ice-blue eyes with your (e/c) eyes, hers twinkling in the moonlight as your faces slowly inched closer.

“(y/n), there’s something I…I’ve wanted to tell you this for so long now…(y/n), I-”

As you moved in closer to Weiss, you heard a tree rustling behind you; which was odd due to the lack of any kind of breeze tonight. You turned away from Weiss and let go of her, scanning the area for any other movement.

“What’s wrong?” She asked as you unlocked Tooth & Nail

“We’re not alone,” You said, handing her Myrtenaster, “whoever’s out there show yourself!”

The two of you moved back-to-back as you continued looking around. Suddenly, a chuckle echoed through the garden, sending a chill up your spine.

“Nicely done, boy.” The voice said, “Quite the set of ears of you have. Reminds me of…well, me.”

A cloud of smoke bloomed on the top of the fountain and when it cleared, a figure stood perched on the fountain’s head. It was pretty clear that he was a member of the White Fang, but his outfit was different from the others you’ve seen in reports. All of his clothing and armor was colored black, probably so he could move through dark areas without being detected. His armor was minimal, covering important parts like the chest and shoulders and the material looked like it was lighter than standard armor. Along his arms, you could make out multiple rows of throwing knives and daggers slotted into a set of tubes. His mask was black, unlike the standard gray masks of the White Fang soldiers, and it also had white marks underneath the eye slits.

“Who are you?” You asked

“Oh, my name isn’t of any importance. Just call me ‘Alpha’ if you have to.”

“So you’re one of the Alphas Professor Ozpin told us about.” Weiss said

“Correct,” the Alpha said as a smile curled its way onto his face, “and you are a Schnee.”

“Pretty bold of the White Fang to invade Beacon of all places.”

“Oh we wouldn’t infiltrate Beacon in force, too loud.” the Alpha chuckled, “But when you’re the White Fang’s premier Dust Assassin, you get a certain degree of autonomy.”

“Dust Assassin?” Weiss asked, “Then those tubes must be some kind of prototype Dust Infusion System.”

“Clever girl, as to be expected of the Schnee family. Of course, this little toy helps make my work much more enjoyable; and after experiencing the thrill of killing a Schnee I’ve been chomping at the bit for another taste.” The Alpha said as his smug grin turned into a smile of pure evil

“What…What do you mean ‘another’? Weiss asked, you could hear her voice starting to shake

“Heard from Uncle Eis and Auntie Blanc recently?” The Alpha said in an almost taunting tone of voice

Weiss stood there silent as the Assassin pulled a sword out from behind his back. The sword was pure silver in color and calling its design elegant would be a vast understatement. You began to wonder where he got it from until you heard Weiss gasp at the sight of the sword and you put two and two together.

“You…YOU MONSTER!” She yelled as she prepared a glyph, but you stopped her halfway through

“Don’t! A reaction is just what he’s looking for. You let your anger take over, you make mistakes.”

“Oh, let her scream; it makes this job so much more fun! But don’t worry dear,” He said as he turned a dial on his wrist, causing a green light to flow through the tubes on his arms and into his knives, “you’ll be with them soon enough.”

“Over my dead body.” You said as you stepped in front of Weiss

“(y/n) …”

“That can be arranged.” The Alpha said as he disappeared from sight in another flash of smoke

The gardens turned dead silent when the Alpha vanished, the two of you just waiting for his first move.

“Weiss?” You asked, “You going to be okay?”

“As soon as I make him pay for hurting my family.”

“All right Snow Angel, focus that fury. This isn’t where you want to make mistakes.”

Out of the corner of your eye, you saw a flash of green light come from a tree. Turning to see three green blades flying through the air towards you, you activated your Wind Dust and blocked the blades with a wave of wind. When the two collided, they seemed to cancel each other out and at the last second, you blocked three knives with your gauntlet. From different angles, these waves came at you and Weiss. First from up in the trees, then from behind bushes and benches and even from the top of the fountain but you never caught sight of the Alpha

“Two waves, Dust then Knife. The knives must fire the Dust in the same shape as the blade so he can keep moving. Impressive.” You said as the sound of clashing metal met your ears.

Turning around you saw the Assassin mid-combat with Weiss, using her aunt’s own sword against her as she fought the Alpha. Myrtenaster started glowing red as Weiss used her own Dust to push the Alpha back to the fountain.

“Well done Miss Schnee, you’re putting up a much better fight than your aunt.”

“Stop talking!” Weiss yelled as she lunged forward

Just before Myrtenaster made contact with the Alpha, he evaporated into smoke. Weiss, who was already committed to the strike, couldn’t recover in time as the Assassin reappeared behind her with his sword ready to strike.

“WEISS!” You yelled as you dashed in and activated your semblance

As Weiss recovered from her lunge, she could hear the Assassin’s sword make contact with something and you let out a rough grunt of pain. Looking behind her you and the Alpha seemed to be frozen in time, with you using your body as a shield and the Alpha’s blade dug into your right shoulder.

“(Y/N)!”

“Quick one aren’t we?” The Alpha said as you raised your head while your Semblance took full effect

“I told you,” You said as your eyes changed from (e/c) to your Inner Beast’s yellow, “you’re not touching her.”

Tapping into your Lightning Dust you punched his chest with an electrically charged fist as he flew back, the sword being ripped out of your shoulder.

“(Y/N)! Are you hurt?” Weiss asked

“Stings a bit, but I should be good.” You said as the Assassin stood up, his Infusion System letting off sparks, probably shorting out from your lightning punch. Out of the corner of your eye, you also saw a small squad of Atlas soldiers on patrol and headed your way. “Set up a trap, we finish him now.”

Weiss nodded and a glyph appeared below your feet as you dashed up to meet the Assassin. While the Assassin was used to your normal speed, he could barely keep up with the enhanced speed of your Semblance. With every punch, he blocked it with the sword just before you could make contact. After one swing, it looked like you were open and the Assassin tried to counterattack, but as he committed to the swing you swiftly recovered before he could and knocked the blade out of his hand before sweeping his legs.

“Gotcha…” You said as you disappeared from view for a second before reappearing behind the Alpha

With a swift uppercut to his back, you shot him a few feet in the air and jumped up to follow him. Catching a signal from Weiss that she was ready, you gave him a roundhouse kick in her direction. The Alpha went sailing through the air towards Weiss but she rolled out of the way as you came back down to earth. When the Alpha landed, Weiss activated her glyph, propelling the White Fang back into the air as you loosed your blades and sharpened their edges with your Ice Dust.

“NOW!” You yelled as both you and Weiss jumped towards the airborne Alpha

Slashing his armor on both sides, his Dust Infusion System fell to the ground in pieces before the three of you landed. Using the last of your Ice Dust, you froze his limbs to the ground so he couldn’t move. The garden returned to silence for only a brief moment as the footsteps of Atlas soldiers could soon be heard as the patrol from earlier made it to you. While they looked over the Alpha and called in for back-up, you noticed Weiss’ aunt’s sword nearby. Picking up the blade, you walked over to Weiss and handed it to her; handing her the weapon, she looked into your (e/c) eyes with a smile on her face as tears pooled in her eyes. Wrapping your arms around her she started crying into your shirt, the feelings that she had been holding back during the fight now coming out in full.

About 10 minutes later, more Atlas soldiers led by Weiss’ sister Winter arrived on the scene. After noticing the two of you and the sword that Weiss was holding, Winter quickly realized the situation and proceeded to arrest the Alpha while the two of you got looked over by one of their paramedics. As you got your shoulder bandaged up, Winter stopped for a few minutes to speak to you.

“(F/N) (L/N), it’s been too long. You look well.” She said in her usual proper manner

“Good to see you too Winter.” You replied

“I’m surprised that one of the Alphas would be so bold as to attack my sister here of all places.”

“Well, we both know how that worked out for him.” You said with a chuckle

“Yes,” she said before looking over at Weiss or a few seconds before returning to you, “I really must thank you for what you did tonight (y/n), and not just as an Atlesian official. Uncle Eis and Aunt Blanc meant so much to my little sister, it certainly wasn’t easy to tell her what happened.”

“I can imagine.”

“But they aren’t the only ones who are very special to Weiss.” She said as a soldier whispered something in her ear, “I’m sorry (y/n) but duty calls, the general will have some questions for the Assassin. Just promise me one thing, and take care of Weiss.”

“I promise.” You said as you looked over to see her walking up to the two of you

“Leaving already?” Weiss asked

“Don’t worry little sister, we’ll have a little reunion at a later date I promise.”

With that, Winter hopped back on the airship that brought her here along with the soldiers and flew off to their headquarters in Vale. That left you alone with Weiss in the gardens and with the feelings you’d long forgotten renewed in your heart.

“Hey, Weiss?”

“Yes (y/n)?”

“Wasn’t there something you wanted to tell me before we got…interrupted?”

“Oh, yes there is something.” She said as it looked like her cheeks started to blush

“Okay, well there’s something that I want to say too. So how about we say it together?”

“That sounds good. On three?” She said as you nodded, “One…”

“Two…” You counted as your faces inched closer to each other

“Thr-” Weiss continued but was stopped short when your lips met hers

To both you and Weiss, time seemed to stop with your kiss. Even though your eyes were closed, you could tell that she was shocked at first. But then, as she settled in, you could feel her arms wrap around your neck and her fingers run through your (h/c) hair while you embraced her and deepened the kiss. Finally, the need to breathe caused you to separate from the kiss, a small strand of saliva connecting you for a brief moment as you caressed her cheek.

“I love you, Weiss.”

“I love you too (y/n).” She said as she leaned into your touch

The next day, both you and Weiss were paid a visit by Professor Ozpin to explain to him what had happened and to apparently confirm what General Ironwood had told him. The news was shared with the school and for the next few days, other students would congratulate you on fighting off the White Fang. Some would ask for a picture, others would ask to train with you; and while you didn’t turn anyone down, you started to see how Weiss felt. Sure you did a really good thing, but a lot of bad things also happened, namely Weiss losing some very dear family members. After the buzz around you died down, you had taken some time to make a little gift for Weiss and, with Ozpin’s and Winter’s approval, placed it in the gardens of the school. A few hours later, you were at Team RWBY’s door and knocked. Shortly after, the door opened and Weiss stepped out.

“Hey, beautiful.” You said as you kissed her on the cheek

“Hey, what are you doing here?”

“I’ve got something I want to show you. But, you have to trust me.”

Weiss nodded and the two of you proceeded out of the dorms and headed to the gardens.

“Okay, now close your eyes.” You said

Weiss did as you asked and you guided her by the hand to the site of your hard work.

“All right,” you said as you positioned her in front of it, “take a look.”

Weiss opened her eyes and covered her mouth with her hands in surprise. A small bench stood underneath one of the larger trees and behind the bench was a decorative stone statue with her aunt’s sword pierced into the stone. Weiss walked up to the stone and saw the plaque set into it. “In honor of those we love, and remembering those we’ve lost. Some here, some gone; all of them worth fighting for.”

“It’s not really your aunt’s sword.” You said as you walked up to Weiss, “Winter helped me make a replica, and she has the real one. What do you think?”

Rather than a response, Weiss wrapped her arms around your neck and kissed you.

“It’s beautiful.” She said as the two of you sat down on the bench to enjoy the day

“Hey, I was wondering,” You said as you could feel your face getting warmer, “if you don’t already have a date for the dance, maybe you’d like to go with me?”

“I’d love to.” Weiss said as your lips met in another kiss

When you let go, she nestled into your shoulder and sighed in content. Nearby, you spotted a small patch of red daisies within arm’s reach. Picking one, you placed it in Weiss’ pure white hair and got a giggle out of your old friend. She picked a white daisy in return and put it in your (h/c) hair while planting another kiss on your lips.

“Love you.” You said when you separated

“Love you too.” She said
My next RWBY x Male Reader, starring the one and only Ice Queen herself, Weiss Schnee.RWBY Gif - Weiss 1
Decided to go the "long-lost childhood friend" route with this one, it always fit the best with Weiss to me.

Also, we meet the Dust Assassin, my next White Fang Alpha.  I have to admit, one of the trickier parts of writing these is creating personalities for these BBG's (Big Bad Guys) but I've made it work so far.  For example, the Weapon Master thought himself as the absolute best, a bit of a superiority complex.
The Grimm Tamer had a Loki-like feel to him in my head, taking any opportunity that presented itself no matter how underhanded, and the Dust Assassin loves making his target squirm; the death is quick in the end but not without making them suffer.

As always a huge shout-out to :iconneo-chan7: and :iconyellowninja123: for their awesome RWBY inserts.

Anyway, that's another Insert down for Team RWBY, hard to believe I'm almost done with the team.
Hope you guys enjoy!
As always, comments and faves are welcomed and much appreciated!

Weiss is my favorite! Childhood-friend-turned-lover trope really works on this story. Nice work!
