DISCLAIMER: Minor Frozen Spoilers ahead

As a young boy living in the kingdom of Corona, you enjoyed a peaceful life with your family under the rule of the beloved king and queen. Your parents worked in the castle, your mother a cook and your father a guard. You were well-known for running around the castle with your mother and watching your father train new recruits. When you got older, you planned to join your father in the Royal Guard. However, you had to be careful around those who were unaware of your gift. From a very young age, you found that you possessed a magical ability to create and control fire and heat. You were able to partially control it but had the occasional flare-up when you lost your temper. When you turned ten years old, you and your parents went on a trip to the kingdom of Arendelle in hopes that a legendary shaman said to live there could help you control your powers.

Upon arriving in the valley where this shaman supposedly lives, you and your parents found nothing but moss-covered boulders. Noticing the sun was starting to set, your father pulled out a torch and asked you to light it. Suddenly, the rocks at your feet began to roll towards you and you heard voices rise from the rocks. With a wave of your hand, the top of the torch caught and soon a healthy flame was burning. Where the rocks stood, now stood dozens of small gray creatures covered in green fur and wearing moss-like clothing with crystals of varying colors. All stood silent until one, who looked much older than the others, approached. He looked at you then your father’s torch and then back to you.

“Welcome to the Valley of the Living Rock,” the elder said, “my name is Pabbie. I am the elder of this valley and the leader of the trolls who live here, and you young man,” He said pointing at you, “it appears you hold a magical power over fire. Were you born with it or cursed?”

“Born,” you said, “my name is (y/n) and I’m from the kingdom of Corona.”

“That’s quite a distance for someone so young, ” Pabbie said, you nodded in agreement

“I’ve heard that you could help me to control my powers.”

Pabbie stepped closer to you, looking at the torch your father was carrying one more time before turning to you.

“I cannot help you learn to control your gift (y/n), you must do that for yourself. Your powers come from the fire within your heart, it burns as bright or as dim as you choose. It is up to you to reign the fire in but be careful not to let it blaze or snuff it out. Confidence will be your greatest ally.”

Pabbie turned to two trolls who were carrying a scroll up to you, which you took.

“While I cannot help you, there is something I can do. The King and Queen of Arendelle have a daughter named Elsa, she has a special power as well. Take this scroll to them, it will explain your situation and provide you with a place to stay while you are in Arendelle. In the event that something happens, you are more than welcome here.”

Your family thanked Pabbie and headed for Arendelle Castle.

Stopping at an inn the night before, you and your family finally arrived at Arendelle Castle the next day. When you came to the front gates, you found them shut tight with a pair of guards in front. Approaching the guards, you handed them the scroll that Pabbie had given you. Taking a moment to read the scroll, the guards then took you inside. The castle’s hallways towered above your head as the guards led you to the king and queen. After a few more minutes of walking, one of the guards knocked on a door and was let inside. You and your parents waited for a little while before the door opened again and the King and Queen of Arendelle stepped through into the hallway.

“You must be (y/n),” the queen said, “it’s very nice to meet you.” Looking into her eyes, you could see the same kind of compassion and gentleness you’ve seen in your mother

“The journey from Corona is a long one, it is good to see you are well and I must admit,” the king said, “it helps to know that our daughter is not the only one with a special gift.”

“Is there any way that we could stay here for now?” your father asked, “We won’t be a bother and besides, with (y/n) still learning to control his powers, I think he’d be much safer with the elder troll nearby.”

“Of course,” The queen added before turning to one of the guards, “have Kai and Gerda prepare some of the spare rooms. I’ll go tell Elsa and Anna about our new guests and send a message to Corona regarding your situation.”

The king and queen left with the guards as you looked up to your parents. Your mother had a smile on her face as your father patted you on the shoulder.

Time went by and you and your parents adjusted to life in Arendelle Castle; it wasn’t too different from living in Corona. A few days after moving in you met Anna and her older sister Elsa, who happened to be the same age as you. Anna was very energetic and carefree, and Elsa seemed very quiet and composed. You and Anna would play together when you had the chance, and whenever Elsa wasn’t trying to learn how to control her abilities you spent a few minutes talking. You’ll never forget the first time you and Elsa learned of each other’s powers.

Your mothers had arranged for you and Elsa to meet one day in her room. When you walked inside you found your mother with Elsa and her mother sitting around a table. A silver candlestick stood at the center of the table.

“Ah (y/n), good to see you again,” the queen said as she noticed your entrance, “you remember Elsa?”

“Um…hi.” The little blonde girl said

“Hi,” You responded

“Well,” you mother said as she stood up and headed for the window, “now that everyone’s here I say we get started.”

Your mother pulled the window’s curtains closed, slightly darkening the room. It wasn’t pitch-black, and you could still see Elsa and her mother at the table.

“Elsa,” The queen spoke up, “do you know why (y/n) and his parents are staying with us?”

Elsa shook her head in response, and you noticed your mother motion to the candle on the table.

All eyes were on you as you cupped your hands and concentrated, soon a light could be seen coming from your fingertips which gathered in your hands. After a few seconds more a small flame appeared in your palms, earning smiles from your mother and the queen and a shocked expression from Elsa. Lifting the flame into the air, it floated like a lonely spirit across the room before settling down on the wick of the candle, causing it to catch fire.

“You have powers too?” Elsa exclaimed, you nodded in response

“I can control fire,” you said, “what can you do?”

Instead of responding, Elsa looked to her mother and received a reassuring nod. Holding her hand out, a bright blue snowflake formed in her palm.

“I can control ice.” Elsa said

“Cool,” you said, not realizing your choice of words until Elsa giggled as your mother opened the curtains again.

Years past by and your life in Arendelle Castle continued. After your thirteenth birthday, your parents had grim news that they needed to return home to Corona at the King’s request, but they wanted you to stay here and learn to harness your powers. After a little experimentation, and burning a few shrubs by accident, you figured out that your powers were linked to your emotional state. It saddened you a little to say goodbye, but the three of you knew that you were in good hands with the Arendelle staff. Knowing your way around the kitchen from time spent with your mother, you could often be found with Kai and Gerda helping to cook and clean and generally helping the limited staff with the upkeep of the castle. In your off time, you either headed out to the village to peruse the shops and cafés or returned to the valley of the trolls to see Pabbie and the other trolls again, as well as demonstrate how your control has improved.

Around the age of sixteen, the guards allowed you to join them in training. They refined your fighting skills and you proved to be quite the swordsman, especially during one particularly intense duel when your sword caught fire. After explaining to the severely surprised guards how you did that, you stopped for a minute and thought about how you actually did that. Putting the sword down and concentrating, you pictured a sword in your mind, a sword that was made of fire. Motioning as if you were pulling a sword from its scabbard, you and the guards were in awe as a flaming sword seemed to grow from your hand. A little more testing showed that you could focus your power through weapons and armor, even creating them out of thin air. You personally were really proud of the progress you were making with your abilities and you knew your parents would be too.

Sadly, from what little you knew it seemed that Elsa wasn’t having such good fortune. Sometimes when you would walk past her room, you could hear her and her parents trying to figure out how to control her powers as well as how to conceal them. Something inside you said that that wasn’t a good idea, but then again Elsa was the heir to Arendelle’s throne. She had an image that one day would be known around the world when she became queen, something the simple son of a guard and cook didn’t have to worry about. Given her situation, you understood that Elsa’s parents knew what they were doing and besides, she had plenty of time before that happens.

Two years later, however, fate took a very dark turn. Elsa’s parents left for a two-week trip by boat; you never were told where. Caught in a bad storm, their boat capsized amongst the rough waters and the King and Queen were lost to the sea. Their funeral was held a few days after the news reached Arendelle. The whole village came at one time or another to pay their respects, yourself included; but while you consoled Anna over the loss of her parents, your mind was on the one person not in attendance. Later that night, you approached Elsa’s door in hopes of checking up on her. Anna told you that she had already tried, but got no response. But that didn’t stop you; after all, you knew why Elsa was keeping herself shut in her room.

“Elsa?” you said as you knocked on the door, “Are you still in there? Can we talk?”

You noticed that the door felt slightly cold to the touch, and like Anna’s attempt, you received no response.

“Just figured you could use some company,” You said, “I thought you’d feel better around someone you don’t need to hide your powers from.”

The silence continued and you began to head for your chambers to rest, but as you walked a few feet away from her door, you heard it creak open. Turning around you saw Elsa’s door opening, so you slowly walked inside. Your feet crunched as you looked around her room; everything had a thin layer of frost over it and it was lightly snowing. When you stepped inside you heard the door close once more. From behind the door, you saw Elsa sitting against the wall. You sat down next to her, but she didn’t seem to want to talk. Understanding that she doesn’t want to hurt you or anyone else, you decided to keep it brief. Concentrating, you summoned a light aura of heat and surrounded yourself in it and melted the area of frost around the two of you.

“I know you’re doing this because it helps you keep your power under control.” You said, “If this is what you want, then I won’t stop you. I just…wanted to make sure you were all right. I haven’t told Anna yet, but I got a letter from my parents asking me to come home to Corona. My ship leaves in a few days and I don’t know how long I’ll be gone so I just wanted to say goodbye in case I don’t see you before then.”

You stood up and brushed the snow off of your pants, getting ready to leave Elsa.

“Will you be coming back?” She quietly asked looking up to meet your (e/c) eyes with her blue ones.

You smiled and knelt back down, “Arendelle is as much a home to me as Corona, and you and Anna are like the sisters I never had. So yes, I don’t know when but yes I will come back. I promise.” And with that, you closed the door and returned to your chambers for the night.

When you returned home, you learned that the King and Queen’s lost daughter had been found and was getting married very soon. You spent the day with your mother preparing for the festivities to come with the wedding. Later than night, you showed your parents how well you had learned to control your powers. As you had hoped, they were very happy to see that you had come so far. After dinner, you decided to write a letter to Elsa saying that you made it back safely. You wrote a letter to Anna too and had the royal courier send them out the next morning. Over the next few years back home, you seemed focused on something else quite often. You didn’t really notice it yourself, but your parents said that is was pretty apparent. When you turned twenty-one, your parents surprised you with a scroll. You opened it and saw that it was a rite of passage to and from Arendelle. You remembered that since you and Elsa’s birthdays were near each other; her coronation would be soon. You wouldn’t be able to be there for it, but it made you so excited on the inside to see your friends again.

When your ship arrived at Arendelle’s port a few weeks later, the summer sun was shining and the cool sea breeze waved through your short (h/c) hair. You adjusted your bootlaces and hoisted your bag over your shoulder as the gangplank was lowered.

“(Y/N), is that you?” You heard a voice say from the dock

Looking over the side of the ship, you saw a gray-haired woman standing on the dock with some more of the servants from the Castle. Stepping off of the ship, she ran over to you and wrapped her arms around you.

“Oh, it’s so good to see you again dear!”

“You too Gerda.”

“Oh, the queen and princess will be so happy to see you!” She said taking your bag and handing to one of the other two servants. “The others will see to your things and put them in your old room.”

“Thank you. So, how did Elsa’s coronation go?” You asked

As the two of you headed for the castle, Gerda filled you in on what happened. Elsa accidentally revealed her powers after an argument with Anna and ran away. Plunging Arendelle into a seemingly eternal winter, Anna left to find her and left Arendelle in the care of Prince Hans. When Anna returned nearly frozen to death, literally, Hans tried to kill Elsa to end the winter spell but Anna sacrificed herself to save her which in turn lifted the curse placed on her and Elsa was able to bring back summer. Now, Elsa was loved by her people, and Hans was brought to justice back in his home country.

“…and now you’re back with us! Oh, I don’t know how this could be any better!” Gerda said gleefully

“I can only imagine what Anna and Elsa will think.” You said as you approached Arendelle Castle once more

The gates were wide open and what looked like most of the village was in the courtyard. Nearly everyone was skating on a layer of ice spread throughout the yard, the fountains were frozen in a decorative fashion and a light snow was falling; you smiled as you knew only one person was capable of this.

“Well, I’ll be! (Y/N)?” You heard as a rather big-boned man in the royal servant’s garb skated over to you and Gerda. “It is you! My word, it’s been years! You look well.”

“You too Kai.” You responded as you shook his hand

“Oh, we have to find the queen and princess! Come with me, it’ll be a wonderful surprise!” Kai said as he grabbed your hand and pulled you onto the ice.

You didn’t have skates on, but your boots provided some grip on the slick ice. Still, you held onto Kai’s shoulders for support as you heard him mutter to himself looking for Anna and Elsa.

“Is that…no…maybe over…no. Honestly, with her dress, it shouldn’t be so…ah, there they are.”

Slowly looking over Kai’s shoulder you caught a glimpse of Anna and Elsa after so long. Anna was wearing an olive-green and gray dress and her hair was still tied into braided pigtails, looking quite lovely as always. Elsa, you thought, on the other hand, looked absolutely stunning. Her crystal-blue dress shimmered like the purest snowfall and her platinum blonde hair was tied in a looser French braid over her shoulder. But to you, the most beautiful thing about her was her smile; being with Anna and everyone around her seeming so happy brought out a side of Elsa that you hadn’t seen in years. Realizing that Kai was getting closer, you crouched behind him to surprise your old friends.

“Your Majesty! Princess!” Kai called out and got their attention

“Yes Kai, what is it?” Anna asked

“It appears that a belated coronation gift has just come in.” Kai explained

“A gift? What is it?” Elsa said

“An old friend.” You said as you slowly stepped out from behind Kai

When your eyes met Anna and Elsa’s, for a split second their faces just lit up as a smile found its way to your face. Another second later, you were knocked onto your backside when Anna tackled you with a hug.

“(Y/N)! You came back!” Anna squealed

“It’s nice to see you too Anna”, you wheezed “but you’re squeezing me a little too hard.”

“Oh! Sorry.” She said as she helped you up

When you regained your balance, you and Anna had a good laugh and you looked over to Elsa. She was grinning from ear to ear and, from the look of it, she was blushing a bit too. As she walked over to you and wrapped her arms around you, you could feel your face getting a little warmer too.

“I told you I’d come back.” You said as you released each other, “Wow, you look so much like your mother.”

“Hey, can I have a hug too?” You heard down by your feet. You looked down to see a…snowman. A living snowman was standing near your feet, with a little winter cloud hovering above him.

“Hi! My name is Olaf, and I like warm hugs!” The snowman said with stick arms wide open

With a light chuckle, you obliged Olaf and knelt down to give him a hug. It felt a little cold at first, but you got used to it; then you noticed Olaf had a thinner midsection when you let go.

“Wow, that is a really warm hug!” Olaf said in surprise as his personal flurry restored his body back to normal

Elsa giggled but Anna looked at you rather curiously and then you remembered that you never showed Anna your powers in all those years you spent here.

“That’s right. You never knew why I was living with you guys back then.”

“You lived in the castle with Anna and Elsa?” Olaf asked

“Yep, when we were little.” You said as you held your hand out and created a small flame, “After all, Elsa isn’t the only one with powers.”

Anna and Olaf gasped at the sight of your fire powers, and soon the villagers started to take notice. Anticipating this, you concentrated and waved your hands around; as you did this the torches lining the courtyard lit and cast their warmth on the villagers, earning you a round of applause from the crowd.

“Looks like you’ve got control over your powers.” Elsa said

“I could say the same about you. Mind letting me join in the fun?”

With a wave of Elsa’s hand, a pair of skate blades made of ice grew onto your boots.

“Thanks, now let’s see if I can remember anything from last time I skated here.” You said as you took off across the ice.

For the rest of the day, you spent time with Anna, Elsa, and Olaf and had a genuinely great time.

After skating the afternoon away and taking a hot bath to wash off the boat trip, you joined the trio for dinner. It was then that you met Kristoff, Anna’s boyfriend and Arendelle’s Official Ice Master and Deliverer. As you ate, Anna and Elsa filled you in on what else happened when Elsa ran away. Anna told you how she met Kristoff and his reindeer Sven, finding Elsa and her accidentally freezing Anna’s heart, Hans’ betrayal in hopes to become King, and how Elsa was able to lift the eternal winter from Arendelle. You had to take a minute when Anna got to the part about her sucker-punching Hans off the boat because you were laughing so hard.

“Serves him right!” You said as you wiped away a tear while you caught your breath

“And now Arendelle lives in peace with Elsa as queen.” Anna finished as you continued eating

After dinner, you headed back to your old room for a good night’s sleep. You had just reached the door when you heard someone walking down the hall.

“(Y/N)?” said a familiar voice

You looked over to see Elsa approaching.

“Hello, Elsa.” You responded

“Did you enjoy today?” She asked

“Yeah, it was really fun.”

There was a bit of an awkward silence between the two of you for a while until you spoke up again.

“Everything okay?” You asked

“Mm-hmm,” she nodded, “I’m just…really happy to see you again.”

“Me too.”

You gave Elsa one last hug before she headed off to her chambers and you retired for the night.

Throughout the next two weeks, you spent your time in many different ways. The first thing you did was go back to visit Pabbie and the trolls, and you were surprised to find that Kristoff and Sven had been “adopted” by one of the trolls. Pabbie was very happy to see you again and was very proud of how you’ve handled your abilities. Some days you would train with the guards like just like old times, minus any flaming swords. You and Anna spent the day in town a few times, you’ve had a craving for one of Florian’s Famous Flangendorfers and Anna, having a major sweet tooth, was more than happy to accompany you. Elsa, now being Queen of Arendelle, didn’t have much free time for you or Anna but you both understood and made the most of the time you had together with snowball fights and ice skating in the courtyard and other days just reading in the castle’s library.

One day, you were lounging in one of the castle’s sitting rooms with Olaf. He wanted to know more about Corona and you were more than happy to share. You were telling him about what you did before you came back to Arendelle, Olaf was bouncing on the couch while you sat in an armchair near the window.

“Wow! The Snuggly Duckling sounds amazing!” Olaf said, “I hope I can go there someday. Would you go with me (y/n)? (Y/N)?”

You didn’t answer Olaf; in truth, you didn’t even hear him. You were staring off into space as you looked out into the empty courtyard. This continued until you felt something poke at your leg. You looked down to see Olaf poking your thigh with his carrot nose.

“(Y/N)? Are you okay?”

“Yeah, sorry Olaf. I was just thinking about something.”

As you said this, Olaf’s mouth curled into a smile.

“Something…or someone?”

“What are you talking about?”

“You were thinking about Elsa weren’t you?”

You felt your cheeks get warmer when Elsa was mentioned.

“I…I…I don’t know what you’re talking about.” You stuttered

“Oh come on (y/n), me and Anna have seen how you act around her. You love Elsa!”

“I…I…Okay sure, we’ve known each other for a while but I don’t know if this really is love I’m feeling.” You said as you look out the window as Olaf hopped into the adjacent chair, “To be honest, I’m not even sure what love is.”

“That’s okay, I do!” Olaf said happily, you turned towards him “Love is…putting someone else’s needs before yours. Like how Anna sacrificed herself to save Elsa.”

“Okay, I’ll give you that one.” You said with a chuckle, “But…Elsa’s the Queen of Arendelle.”

“That’s true, and you know what else is true?” Olaf asked “The Princess of Arendelle is in love with a simple ice harvester and I’m a snowman living in the middle of summer. Anything is possible.”

Olaf’s words gave you two different feelings. They comforted you, oddly enough, but more than that they gave you confidence. He was right on the nose now that you thought about it, ever since you left for home three years ago Elsa was always on your mind. She was elegant, compassionate, selfless, intelligent and beautiful too. You looked back at Olaf with your own smile to match his.

“Thanks Olaf,” You said with a yawn, “I feel like having a nap before dinner; we can keep talking later if you want.”

Olaf nodded as the two of you left the room to continue your day. After your nap and before dinner, you headed out to a local jeweler’s shop to request a certain item to be made. A week later, you picked it up and planned to give it to Elsa at the right time.

The following week, you and the gang headed out to the valley of trolls. Kristoff wanted to check in with his family and Elsa was free of any diplomatic duties. As the five of you rode back to the castle, a thought popped into your head and a smile grew on your face.

“Hey guys,” you called out, “who’s up for a race back to the castle?”

There were smiles all around as everyone nodded and Olaf grabbed onto your belt

“All right then. Last one there’s a rotten flangendorfer!” You yelled to start the race as the four of you dashed off to the castle.

Trees and rocks flashed by as you raced through the countryside. You hadn’t seen a trace of any of the others and could only assume the natural reason for this: you were winning. Another hour or so later and you galloped into the courtyard only to find Kristoff and Sven were already there.

“Aw man.” You grumbled under your breath as you and Olaf got off of your horse

“That was fun, good call (y/n).” Kristoff said, Sven nodding in agreement

Handing the horse’s reins to one of the servants, you looked out to the path but didn’t see any sign of Anna or Elsa. You felt a little worried as you had noticed a storm brewing near the mountains. You and Kristoff stayed in the courtyard and waited for the girls, and it wasn’t until about twenty minutes later that a white horse came speeding into the courtyard in a panic. Once you and Kristoff had calmed him down, you recognized the horse as Frost, the steed that Elsa was riding.

“If Frost is here, where’s Elsa?” You wondered as you looked out to see the rain coming down near the mountain

Soon after, Anna came riding in on Kjekk.

“Darn it! I was so close!” She groaned, “Wait, where’s Elsa?”

“She’s not with you?” You asked

As you and Anna realized what this means, a thunderclap could be heard coming from the storm near the forest.

“We have to go!” Anna said almost hopping on Kjekk but you held her back

“Hold on for a second, if we all go and get separated we may not find each other in that storm, let alone Elsa.” You said, feeling your inner fire burn with a little more determination than before

“He’s got a point, it’s getting bad out there and it looks like it’s heading this way. So what do we do?” Kristoff asked

Quickly pacing around a fountain for a few minutes, you hurriedly hatched a plan.

“Okay here’s what we’ll do, I’ll ride out with Sven, he knows the lay of the land best, and try to find Elsa while you get some of the guards ready to ride out. When I find Elsa, I’ll send Sven back here to lead you guys to where we’ll be taking shelter. I’ll send up a fireball when I’ve sent Sven back. If you see a second fireball, don’t wait for Sven.”

Anna and Kristoff looked at each for a few seconds and then back to you. A completely serious look was painted on your face this whole time, and when they nodded in agreement, you looked over at Sven who had the same serious face as you.

“Let’s go, Sven.” You said as you hopped onto the reindeer and raced back into the forest

The wind whipped through your hair and the rain pelted your face as you and Sven ran into the forest. The dark clouds towered over your head as trees and rocks flew past you once more while you scanned the area for Elsa. Sven slowed down once you two had gotten deeper into the forest.

“She’s got to be around here somewhere.” You said to yourself, “See anything Sven?”

Sven looked around a little but shook his head no, so you continued onward.

About a half-hour later, Sven stopped and looked around again.

“What’s up Sven?” You asked as you got off

Pointing with one of his hooves to the east, you could hear growling sounds coming from behind a large fallen tree. Slowly creeping up to the tree and looking over, you saw the sources of those growls. A pack of wolves, at least eight of them were pacing around what looked like a giant snow globe. You couldn’t see inside of the orb but from here, you could see that the snow globe was made of ice.

“Elsa.”

The wolves looked like they were just biding their time, so you took the opportunity to survey the area. The path back looked clear and you knew that Sven could reach the castle quickly. You also spotted a shallow alcove in the mountainside nearby not too far from the wolves.

“Alright Sven, Elsa and I will be waiting over there,” you said as you pointed to the alcove, “head back to the castle and bring Anna and Kristoff here.”

Sven nodded and, after taking it slow so as not to alert the wolves, sped off into the rain.

Climbing on top of the fallen trunk, you saw the wolves were getting closer and a few were starting to claw at the ice. Thinking quickly, you formed a fireball and threw it at the wolves’ feet. Eight pairs of yellow eyes turned to you as the pack slowly approached you. To be honest, you were scared; you had heard stories from the guards about how vicious these things could get. But they were in your way, so you summoned another pair of fireballs and threw them near the wolves again. This time, though, they dodged the projectiles and continued to advance, cornering you against the tree. You had been told to learn how to control your powers, to reign in the fire. But right now, your heart told you now was the time to let loose.

A ring of fire suddenly surrounded your feet and slowly rose around your body, bathing you in a warm light. Your clothes started to glow with the same bright light as you could feel them change shape. Your brown boots turned black as coal with golden flames up the side. Those same golden flames grew up your pant legs as your shirt turned scarlet red. The light faded from your pants and boots but seemed to solidify around your chest, shins, and shoulders. Soon a golden chest plate formed along with matching greaves and shoulder pieces, each embossed with an image of the sun, the symbol of the kingdom of Corona.

The ring of fire had stopped the wolves for a moment but as the light faded, they resumed their advance. Thinking quickly, you flourished your hand around your head as a whip of fire sprouted from your fist. Quickly repeating the motion with your other hand, you stood armed and ready to defend Elsa. One of the wolves crouched, ready to pounce, but a flick of your whip at its face caused it to jump back instead. Another wolf prepared an attack but another whiplash resulted in the same reaction. Sweeping your whips in front of you, the wolves slowly backed away from you, allowing you to move ahead and put yourself between them and Elsa. Once you had gotten some distance away from Elsa, you decided to send these wolves back to the mountain. Bundling your whips in your hands, you slammed them into the ground and a wall of fire erupted from the point of contact. Slowly pushing the wall towards the wolves, they soon ran off into the trees and up the mountainside.

Taking a minute to see if they had really left, you ran to Elsa’s globe.

“Elsa?” You called out, “Are you okay? Can you hear me?”

You got no response at first, but soon the globe began to melt away and Elsa was standing in the spot where it once stood.

“Oh thank goodness.” You said as Elsa wrapped her arms around you

Taking a moment to comfort her, you reciprocated her embrace.

“Thank you (y/n), thank you so much, ” She said as you released each other, “But you could’ve gotten hurt…or worse.”

“Hey, some people are worth risking it all for.” You responded as you looked into her eyes

Elsa looked away when you said that and her face turned a shade of pink amidst the rain

“Come on,” you said as you took her hand, “Sven should be back with Anna and the others soon. Let’s wait in that alcove over there.”

You and Elsa reached the alcove as you took a moment to craft a large ball of fire in your hands. Shooting it up into the sky, it passed the treetops and exploded like a firework, the remnants fizzling in the rain. Now that the signal was sent the only thing left to do was wait, when suddenly a flash of bright light nearly blinded the two of you.

It happened in an instant, and yet time seemed to move a hundred times slower. A lightning bolt had struck the base of a nearby tree, and it began to fall in the direction of you and Elsa. As she turned to see the tree falling, your words echoed in your head.

"Some people are worth risking it all for.”

Grabbing Elsa by the shoulders, you tossed her outside of the alcove just as the tree came down, bringing a small landslide along with it. As the rocks started falling, you could faintly hear Elsa yelling out your name as things went black.

You woke up pinned underneath rocks and half of a tree trunk with a deafening whine in your ear. Looking up you saw the tree was right over you and it looked like only your right arm was pinned under the rocks, you could feel the rain on your hand so not too many must’ve fallen. You also noticed the tree was burnt, explaining why only half of it was left. In your head, you thanked your powers as you began to regain your hearing and heard the rain fall on the rocks. Amongst the rain, you also heard a very faint voice.

“(Y/N)! (Y/N)! CAN YOU HEAR ME?!” The voice cried out

You recognized it as Elsa’s voice, but it was so faint that you could barely hear it. You tried to call out to her but you got drowned out by the rain and thunder. Then you tried moving your hand that was outside of the rocks, but when you tried, a sharp jolt of pain coursed through your limb. Something was broken, that was the only explanation in your opinion.

“(Y/N)?” you heard Elsa say, you had noticed the sound of rain had stopped and you assumed that the storm had passed. “No, no please no.”

You felt her hand wrap around yours as what sounded like sniffles came from her. It killed you on the inside that she thought you were dead, but the only thing you could do was wait for Sven and the others to brave the storm, which was probably at the castle by now and arrive to help Elsa. Soon, however, you heard Elsa’s voice again, only it sounded like she was singing. You had only heard her sing a few times when you were younger but her voice was still as beautiful now as it was then.

"Please don’t go, please don’t go
Don’t leave me here on my own
Please don’t go, please don’t go
Please don’t leave me all alone

When you came back
I was so glad to see you
But now you’re gone…"

You felt a few more drops of water touch your hand, only these were warm like tears

"And I never got to tell you I loved you."

Learning that Elsa loved you like you loved her, things seemed a little brighter, literally. Looking around, you saw that your body was glowing again, only much brighter than before. You then noticed that the tree and rocks were glowing just as brightly as you felt Elsa let go of your hand. The tree on top of you started to dissolve into bright orange flakes and the same was happening to the rocks around you. Starting from the rocks pinning your arm down, as your arm was freed you slowly pulled your arm in and stood up after the tree was gone. A few minutes later and the sunlight met your face as the rocks melted away and in front of you stood Elsa. When she saw you standing in front of her, she ran into you and wrapped her arms around you crying tears of absolute joy.

“Oh (y/n)! I was so scared I had lost you!”

Taking your good arm, you stroked the back of her head, feeling her soft blonde hair run through your fingers.

“How could I leave you when I love you so much?” you said

Elsa looked at you when you said that. “W-What?” She said, “So you…”

“I could faintly hear you when you were singing. Honestly, I’ve been meaning to tell you the same thing.”

Digging into your pocket with your good hand, you pulled out the piece you had crafted at the jeweler. A necklace with a bright blue snowflake pendant that was wrapped in red and orange flames in the shape of a heart. Taking the necklace from you, Elsa put it on and admired the pendant before turning her blue eyes back to your (e/c) eyes as you caressed her cheek in your hand.

“I love you, Elsa.” You said

‘I love you too (y/n)” She replied as the two of you leaned in for a kiss.

Feeling her soft lips touch yours as she ran her fingers through your hair, the two of you savored the moment together but had to part for the need to breathe.

“Over there! There they are!” Said voices you heard in the distance. Looking down the path you saw Anna, Kristoff, Olaf and some of the guards riding towards you.

Elsa heard the voices too and soon that beautiful smile appeared on her face once more.

“Come on, we should probably have that arm looked at.” She said

“Yeah,” you replied, “but hey, it saved you, so it was worth it in the end.”

Elsa’s cheeks began to blush once more, even more so when you kissed her cheek as the rescue party reached you.

A few days later, the royal doctor had patched your arm up and wrapped it in a cast. You had to live with the cast for about a month according to the doctor, which meant plenty of bed rest. However, on occasion you wouldn’t stay in bed all day. Sometimes, you would be resting comfortably in the castle’s library, reading a book with Elsa by your side. They say that fire and ice never really mix well together, but in the case of yourself and Elsa it was the complete opposite.
Another MaleReader insert, this time featuring Frozen's Elsa, as requested by :iconravuswolf:

Truth be told, after I had posted my GoGo reader insert, Ravus had sent me a comment asking if I did requests.  With finals nearing I didn't have too much time to dedicate but I started working on this to provide a distraction of sorts.  Once finals were done I touched base with him and asked what he had in mind, which just so happened to be this exact pairing! Funny how things work out sometimes huh?Wink/Razz

Anyway, I'm very proud of how this turned out.

Also a quick shout-out to :iconvanguardoffire: for inspiring this with his Frozen MaleReader insert.
Keep it up man, your stuff is really great!

As always comments and favs are much appreciated!
Hope you all enjoy!
